Date of first appearance of coronal hole in EUV at east limb: 2026-04-21
Note: Characterized by an increase in solar wind speed from 380 km/s at 2026-04-30T15:49Z to ~530 km/s at 2026-05-01T06:00Z. A corresponding increase in temperature is observed from ~60,000 K to ~450,000 K when the increase in solar wind speed is observed. Density data decreases from 3 p/cc to 0.1 p/cc at the start of this signature. Additionally, a preceding arrival of the corotating interaction region is seen in the magnetic field components starting at 2026-04-29T23:06Z with Btotal increasing from 6nT to a peak of 13nT. The coronal hole associated with this signature first crossed the central meridian on 2026-04-26 and is centered near latitude S15.
