Coronal Mass Ejection
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Start Time: 2026-03-06T18:12Z ( SOHO: LASCO/C2 )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
SOHO: LASCO/C2
SOHO: LASCO/C3
GOES: CCOR-1
Activity ID: 2026-03-06T18:12:00-CME-001 (version 2)
Note Keyword:
DPL: CME exhibits dimpled front
Faint: Faint event; may affect type assignment
GAP: Data gap
OFL: Outflowing material at the back of the CME
OVR: Event partially overlaps with another CME
Source Signature Keyword:
OFL: Moving/Opening field lines
Morphology Keyword:
L: Loop
Note: Faint CME first seen to the SE by SOHO LASCO C2 beginning at 2026-03-06T18:12Z. No clear source has been found in EUV imagery for this event, however there is a slow rising and opening of field line loops beyond the E limb, beginning after approximately 2026-03-06T15:48Z, as faintly seen in GOES SUVI 195 and 284, possibly indicating a far-sided source behind the limb.

If there are multiple CME analysis entries for a single CME, this flag would indicate which analysis is considered most accurate per measurement type. This is a helpful flag if you would like to download only one most accurate CME analysis per CME per Measurement Type |

This far-sided CME is covered by a data gap in STEREO A COR2 coronagraph and no clear source is seen in EUV imagery. Only a plane-of-sky analysis with SOHO LASCO and GOES CCOR-1 imagery is possible. The CME has likely sped up with time, so this analysis is made with later C3 and CCOR-1 imagery, to capture the speed at 21.5 Rs. |
