Coronal Mass Ejection
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Start Time: 2025-02-28T17:12Z ( SOHO: LASCO/C2 )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
SOHO: LASCO/C2
SOHO: LASCO/C3
STEREO A: SECCHI/COR2
Activity ID: 2025-02-28T17:12:00-CME-001 (version 5)
Note Keyword:
FOV: Front Bright front; may be evidence of pileup
Ha: Bright emission (likely H-alpha emission)
Source Signature Keyword:
PEA: Post eruption arcade
FIL: Filament eruption
OFL: Moving/Opening field lines
EUVW: EUV Wave
Morphology Keyword:
FS: Flux Rope and Shock Candidate
Note: Bright, partial halo to halo CME visible in the W/NW of SOHO LASCO C2, C3, and STEREO A COR2 imagery. The source is a far-sided filament eruption visible along the NW limb of STEREO A EUVI 304 and 195 starting around 2025-02-28T16:45Z. Post eruptive arcades are also visible in STEREO A EUVI 304 and 195 starting around 2025-02-28T17:35Z. Moving/opening field lines and an EUV wave is visible in GOES SUVI 284 starting around 2025-02-28T17:00Z. The source is suspected to be from AR 13993 (~N15W125) based on available STEREO A EUVI data. Note that there was a simultaneous, much less significant, eruption centered at (~W01W60) at the time of the far-sided eruption associated with this CME.

The List of CME Analysis already entered:
Event Type Catalog
Measurement TypeCME measurement type: Leading Edge (LE), Shock Front (SH), Right Hand Boundary (RHB), Left Hand Boundary (LHB), Black/White Boundary (BW), Prominence Core (COR), Disconnection Front (DIS), Trailing Edge (TE).
Prime?"primary flag" which is either True or False. If there are multiple CME analysis entries for a single CME, this flag would indicate which analysis is considered most accurate per measurement type. This is a helpful flag if you would like to download only one most accurate CME analysis per CME per Measurement Type

CME Analysis M2M_CATALOG SH true SWPC_CAT 165.0 7.0 1429.0 O 54.0 2025-02-28T19:41Z Very approximate analysis of a faint wider shock mostly seen in coronagraph running difference imagery, which seems to be more farsided. This is also confirmed by the fact that the EUV wave is not seen on the Earth facing side in EUV imagery, but there are signatures of a far-sided EUV wave behind the limb, seen in AIA 171 and GOES SUVI 284 imagery.
