Coronal Mass Ejection
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Start Time: 2024-12-03T20:36Z ( SOHO: LASCO/C2 )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
SOHO: LASCO/C2
SOHO: LASCO/C3
Activity ID: 2024-12-03T20:36:00-CME-001 (version 1)
Source Location: N17W100
Note Keyword:
Faint: Faint event; may affect type assignment
GAP: Data gap
OVR: Event partially overlaps with another CME
Source Signature Keyword:
FIL: Filament eruption
Morphology Keyword:
L: Loop
Note: Extremely faint loop CME to the NW in SOHO LASCO C2/C3. This CME was not captured in STEREO A COR2 due to overnight data gap which lasted from 2024-12-03T12:23Z to 2024-12-04T00:38Z. Source is a filament eruption seen on the NW limb in GOES SUVI 304 starting at 2024-12-03T20:16Z. This filament is located directly on or just beyond the limb (W90-W110 or so) and spans from N10-N25. Note: The timing of this candidate source is indeed very close to the start time of the CME, which may evoke skepticism about this truly being the source, but due to the congruency between the location and shape of this source with this CME as well as a subsequent source identified which matches well with the CME seen one frame later at 12:48Z, there is a slight increase in confidence that this eruption is indeed a strong candidate source.

Prime?"primary flag" which is either True or False. If there are multiple CME analysis entries for a single CME, this flag would indicate which analysis is considered most accurate per measurement type. This is a helpful flag if you would like to download only one most accurate CME analysis per CME per Measurement Type
