Coronal Mass Ejection
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Start Time: 2024-08-31T01:38Z ( STEREO A: SECCHI/COR2 )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
STEREO A: SECCHI/COR2
SOHO: LASCO/C2
SOHO: LASCO/C3
Activity ID: 2024-08-31T01:38:00-CME-001 (version 1)
Note Keyword:
GAP: Data gap
OVR: Event partially overlaps with another CME
Source Signature Keyword:
OFL: Moving/Opening field lines
Morphology Keyword:
L: Loop
Note: Bright CME seen to the NW in all coronagraphs. The source is far-sided, observed best as field line movement over the NW limb in SDO AIA 171 starting around 2024-08-30T23:42Z, with secondary more northern movement seen starting around 2024-08-31T00:12Z which likely resulted in 2024-08-31T00:53Z. This CME's parameters are difficult to pin down, due to an ongoing campaign with SOHO impacting available LASCO C2/C3 imagery for triangulation with STEREO COR2A.

Prime?"primary flag" which is either True or False. If there are multiple CME analysis entries for a single CME, this flag would indicate which analysis is considered most accurate per measurement type. This is a helpful flag if you would like to download only one most accurate CME analysis per CME per Measurement Type |

Best possible triangulation of this CME front with STEREO COR2A and limited SOHO LASCO C2/C3 imagery due to an ongoing SOHO campaign, coupled with the observed but unclear location of the far-sided source eruption in SDO imagery. |
