Coronal Mass Ejection
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Start Time: 2024-08-19T22:12Z ( SOHO: LASCO/C2 )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
SOHO: LASCO/C2
SOHO: LASCO/C3
STEREO A: SECCHI/COR2
Activity ID: 2024-08-19T22:12:00-CME-001 (version 1)
Note Keyword:
OVR: Event partially overlaps with another CME
Source Signature Keyword:
OFL: Moving/Opening field lines
Morphology Keyword:
L: Loop
Note: The second of three overlapping CMEs, seen to the Northwest in SOHO LASCO C2/C3 and STEREO A COR2. The source is wide but extremely faint opening field lines seen on or possibly just beyond the Northwest limb seen starting at 2024-08-19T21:03Z in SDO AIA 171 and GOES SUVI 284.

Prime?"primary flag" which is either True or False. If there are multiple CME analysis entries for a single CME, this flag would indicate which analysis is considered most accurate per measurement type. This is a helpful flag if you would like to download only one most accurate CME analysis per CME per Measurement Type |

Measurement of faint leading edge using best fit between C2, C3 and COR2A. The faint leading edge was easiest to track in C2 and COR2A, so these were mainly used to determine the best fit parameters. The leading edge is extremely faint and partially obstructed by the pylon in C3, but the faint leading edge feature is just distinct enough in C3 to be trackable. |
