Coronal Mass Ejection
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Start Time: 2024-08-13T14:26Z ( SOHO: LASCO/C2 )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
SOHO: LASCO/C2
SOHO: LASCO/C3
Activity ID: 2024-08-13T14:26:00-CME-001 (version 1)
Note Keyword:
Faint: Faint event; may affect type assignment
FF: Event fails/disappears before exiting COR2
GAP: Data gap
HAL: Halo CME
OVR: Event partially overlaps with another CME
Source Signature Keyword:
Morphology Keyword:
L: Loop
Note: A very faint halo, with the front not seen in white light imagery but seen distinctly in SOHO difference imagery, both C2 and C3 (and not only in the early timestamps). The event is fully covered by a large data gap in STEREO A COR2. Its source could potentially be the faint eruption north of AR 3774 centered around (N28E12) and seen as very minor light dimming in AIA 193 between 2024-08-13T08Z and 14Z, however these coronal signatures seem too faint for a noticeable halo. Alternatively, the source could be far-sided. No coronal signatures indicating backsided CME have been found on/behind limb in AIA imagery, but there is a long-duration C8-class flare on the far side seen by STIX instrument on Solar Orbiter and peaking around 13:40Z.

Prime?"primary flag" which is either True or False. If there are multiple CME analysis entries for a single CME, this flag would indicate which analysis is considered most accurate per measurement type. This is a helpful flag if you would like to download only one most accurate CME analysis per CME per Measurement Type

CME Analysis M2M_CATALOG LE false SWPC_CAT -11.0 26.0 592.0 C 45.0 2024-08-13T19:44Z A super speculative one coronagraph analysis assuming front-sided longitude and N of Active Region 3784 as a source. We have no data from STEREO A COR2 for this event b/c of a data gap. The potential front-sided source - some minor activity north of Active Region 3784 - is super minor and seems very suspect. The CME could alternatively be backsided. Not modeled Anna Chulaki on 2024-08-13T20:03Z
