Coronal Mass Ejection
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Start Time: 2024-08-10T22:36Z ( SOHO: LASCO/C2 )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
SOHO: LASCO/C2
SOHO: LASCO/C3
STEREO A: SECCHI/COR2
Activity ID: 2024-08-10T22:36:00-CME-001 (version 1)
Note Keyword:
DPL: CME exhibits dimpled front
FOV: Front Bright front; may be evidence of pileup
Ha: Bright emission (likely H-alpha emission)
OFL: Outflowing material at the back of the CME
PRM: Prominence material (filamentary structures)
Source Signature Keyword:
OFL: Moving/Opening field lines
Morphology Keyword:
F: Flux Rope
Note: Bright, slow CME seen to the far north in all coronagraphs. The source for this CME is on the far-side of the sun, at an apparent high latitude. Observed in SDO AIA 171/193/211 and well in GOES SUVI 284 as field lines first opening over the NNE limb around 2024-08-10T22:31Z, and a secondary, wider field line opening starting around 2024-08-11T00:51Z. This eruption is wide and slow, and evolves into a dimpled front in the furthest coronagraph imagery from its the initial frames as the filamentary material is uniquely observed unfurling in coronagraphs.

The List of CME Analysis already entered:
Event Type Catalog
Measurement TypeCME measurement type: Leading Edge (LE), Shock Front (SH), Right Hand Boundary (RHB), Left Hand Boundary (LHB), Black/White Boundary (BW), Prominence Core (COR), Disconnection Front (DIS), Trailing Edge (TE).
Prime?"primary flag" which is either True or False. If there are multiple CME analysis entries for a single CME, this flag would indicate which analysis is considered most accurate per measurement type. This is a helpful flag if you would like to download only one most accurate CME analysis per CME per Measurement Type

The CME becomes more dimpled and accelerates into later frames, so this fit attempts to best capture the motion of the leading edge. Not modeled Tony Iampietro on 2024-08-11T19:26Z
