Coronal Mass Ejection
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Start Time: 2024-05-05T15:48Z ( SOHO: LASCO/C2 )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
SOHO: LASCO/C2
SOHO: LASCO/C3
Activity ID: 2024-05-05T15:48:00-CME-001 (version 2)
Source Location: S19E20
Active Region Number: 13663
Note Keyword:
Faint: Faint event; may affect type assignment
FF: Event fails/disappears before exiting COR2
OFL: Outflowing material at the back of the CME
OVR: Event partially overlaps with another CME
Source Signature Keyword:
FLR: Flare
BR: Brightening
DIM: Dimming
Morphology Keyword:
LS: Loop and Shock Candidate
Note: A faint CME to the SE with multiple successive fronts/outflows. It may be associated with the flaring activity in AR 3664 (S19E18) and AR 3668 that was sympathetic to higher intensity (M-class) flaring in AR 3663. In terms of coronal signatures, there is a flare in/south of AR 3664 starting around 2024-05-05T14:30Z and a dimming in AIA 193 south of the AR, as well as some post-eruptive arcades following it. A separate smaller dimming appears at S30E05 and could be responsible for the more western brighter front/edge of the front in coronagraph. The CME is fully covered by a data gap in STEREO.

Prime?"primary flag" which is either True or False. If there are multiple CME analysis entries for a single CME, this flag would indicate which analysis is considered most accurate per measurement type. This is a helpful flag if you would like to download only one most accurate CME analysis per CME per Measurement Type

CME Analysis M2M_CATALOG LE true SWPC_CAT -32.0 -20.0 642.0 C 32.0 2024-05-05T21:07Z A very speculative final analysis using LASCO imagery only. The CME front is faint and the source - minor flaring and eruptive activity in Active Regions 3664 and 3668 - is tentative. Not modeled Anna Chulaki on 2024-05-08T13:44Z
CME Analysis M2M_CATALOG LE false Plane-of-sky NONE -24.0 478.0 S 43.0 2024-05-05T23:20Z POS analysis is the most definitive analysis of this event since the source is rather unclear. Not modeled Anna Chulaki on 2024-05-08T14:03Z
CME Analysis M2M_CATALOG LE false SWPC_CAT -34.0 -21.0 547.0 C 40.0 2024-05-05T22:04Z Very preliminary and speculative analysis of this faint asymmetrical CME with SOHO LASCO imagery only and based on the assumption that minor eruptive/flaring activity in Active Region 3664 and 3668 was the source of this event. 1: Result 1 (2.0 AU)
